Here are some photos of a Battlegroup 28mm WW2 game we played last week. 1944 Eastern Front.
On the right a Russian armoured column and tank riders flanks the town, liberating the former factory manager's residence in the process.
A viscious tank fight leaves many burning wrecks on both sides but a well timed Shturmovik flypast knocks out a Panzer IV and the defences crumble.
Meanwhile the Russian infantry push into the town encountering stiff German resistance as an armoured Kampfgruppe rushes to stop them.
Where the #@*$ did that Panther come from!
More Germans are sent to shore up the line but their morale is close to collapsing.
The Soviet and Fascist infantry engage in furious street fighting for the ruined factory.
The game was played using the Battlegroup WW2 rules. I think they give a pretty good game. I'm wondering if they would work for my RCW figures. Not having to learn too many rule sets is always helpful.
These rules are popular the the club. This is the table my Club mates Ian and Matt set up for a Normandy game in another corner of the club.
